African Black Soap for Natural Beauty Care

Have you already tried out black soap handmade in Northern Ghana by our partners in Kongo Nagbok Nongtaab Shea Butter cooperative? I use it daily and love this foamy soap that leaves my skin feeling deeply cleansed and moisturized. African black soap washes off easily when rinsed with water, leaving the skin feeling clean and not sticky.

Health benefits of African Black Soap

Traditional African black soap has several potential health benefits, including reducing acne, soothing mild skin irritations, and clarifying the skin. It is both simple and highly effective in making your skin look good.

The healing properties of this traditional soap are based on the fact that it has properties that help remove and reduce harmful bacteria from the skin - also fungal infections. It is also said to reduce fine lines and dark spots due to its antioxidant properties which may help fight against damaging free radicals.

African Black soap suits all skin types

Our black soap is handcrafted by the women in Northern Ghana using traditional methods. It contains potassium (made with cocoa bean husks, plantain leaves and coconut oil) with water, palm kernel oil and, of course, shea butter. The soap is all natural and does not contain dyes or fragrances. Thus, is it normally safe for most skin types, also sensitive skin.

Due to the shea butter content (karité), African black soap improves skin moisture and has soothing effects. You can use it on your face and all over your body. It is naturally exfoliating and helps to remove dead skin.

How to use African black soap

Gently soften the soap in your hand with water. Don’t apply the soap directly on your skin but work a small piece of soap into a lather in your hands. Then apply the lather over your damp face, body, or hair. Wash the lather off with warm water.

There are no known side effects or risks associated with using African black soap. However, to avoid any potential irritation, try a small amount of lather on your skin first.
